1. Who we are
AUMVerse is a spiritual-wellness app for reading and listening to scriptures, chanting mantras, practising yoga, following the Hindu calendar and finding practitioners and pandits. The app and this website (aumverse.co) are operated by [Legal entity name] (“AUMVerse”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the AUMVerse mobile app and this website.
2. The short version
- You can use AUMVerse as a guest, without giving us your name, email or phone number.
- If you create an account, we store what is needed to run it and the things you choose to save, such as bookmarks and progress.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads.
- You can delete your account and app data from inside the app at any time.
3. What we collect
Guest mode
When you continue as a guest, the app creates an anonymous session identified only by a random ID. It contains no name, email address or phone number. As a guest you can browse, read and listen, but the app does not store bookmarks, likes, progress, preference answers, feedback, reports, bookings, enquiries or usage analytics for you. The only exception: if you allow notifications, your device’s push token is linked to that anonymous session (see “Push notifications”).
Your account
- Email and password sign-up: your email address, an optional name, and your password, which we store only as a one-way hash (never in readable form). To verify your email or reset your password we send you a short one-time code by email.
- Sign in with Google: Google shares your name and email address with us so we can create or find your account. We do not receive your Google password.
- Accounts whose email has not yet been verified are treated like guests: nothing personal is saved for them until verification.
What we store for verified accounts
- Your library: bookmarks, likes, reading and listening progress, your daily practice, practice logs and any custom practice sets you create.
- Preferences: your app language and theme, and your answers to optional preference questions, which we use to personalise what you see.
- Notifications: the in-app notifications sent to you (for example about new content or your bookings).
- Feedback and reports: feedback you send us, and reports you make about content (the item, the reason you picked and any note you add).
- Bookings and enquiries: when you request a session or send an enquiry to a practitioner, pandit or organisation, we store the practitioner and service, the time slot, the mode (for example online or home visit), your message, and any contact details or home-visit address you choose to share.
- Usage analytics: see “Analytics” below.
Location
If you allow it, the app uses your device’s approximate location to show practitioners and pandits near you. Your coordinates are sent with that search only; we do not save them to your account. You can say no, or turn location off at any time in your device settings, and still search by city.
Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we store your device’s push token, its platform (Android or iOS) and your app language so we can send you notifications about new content, updates and your bookings. This applies to guests too, linked only to the anonymous session. You can turn notifications off in the app’s settings or in your device settings.
Analytics
For verified accounts only, the app records simple in-app events, such as which content was opened, likes, practitioner profile views and taps on outbound links, linked to your account. We use them to understand what is useful and to improve the app. We do not record analytics for guests or unverified accounts, and the app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Media and content delivery
Images, audio and video in the app are served from our storage on Cloudflare R2 through our content delivery network (cdn.aumverse.co). Like any web server, these services process your device’s IP address to deliver files. Some videos are embedded from YouTube; when you play one, YouTube (Google) may process data under its own privacy policy.
Donations
If you choose to support AUMVerse, the app opens your own UPI payment app or shows our UPI ID. The payment happens in that app; we do not receive or store your card, bank or UPI credentials.
4. How we use your information
- To provide the app: sign you in, keep your library and progress in sync, and remember your language and theme.
- To send booking requests and enquiries to the practitioner you choose and keep you updated about them.
- To send account emails (verification and password-reset codes) and the push notifications you have allowed.
- To personalise suggestions from your preference answers.
- To review reported content, respond to feedback, keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Practitioners, pandits and organisations you book or enquire with receive the booking or enquiry details you submit. A home-visit address is shown to the practitioner only after they accept your request.
- Service providers who run parts of the service for us: DigitalOcean (servers and database), Cloudflare (DNS, content delivery and media storage), Resend (sending account emails), Google (Sign in with Google; YouTube playback) and Expo, Google and Apple (delivering push notifications).
- Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service.
6. How long we keep it
- Account data and the items in your library are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Read in-app notifications are deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Expired sign-in sessions and used or expired email codes are cleaned up automatically.
- Media files that are no longer used by any content are removed from storage.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app: open Profile and choose Delete account. This permanently deletes your app data, including bookmarks, likes, progress, daily practice and logs, custom sets, preferences and preference answers, notifications, push tokens, feedback, content reports, analytics events, enquiries and past bookings. It cannot be undone.
- If you have upcoming bookings, the app asks you to cancel or complete them first.
- If the same login is also used for a practitioner (partner) profile, that profile is kept and is managed separately on the partner portal; your login is removed once neither side remains.
If you cannot access the app, email us at [Contact email] from your account’s email address and we will help.
8. Your choices and rights
- Use AUMVerse as a guest, or sign in only when you want to save things.
- Decline location access and notifications, or switch them off at any time.
- Skip optional preference questions.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by writing to [Contact email]. We may need to confirm it is really you before acting on a request.
Depending on where you live, data-protection laws may give you further rights; we will honour them as required.
9. Security
Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if something goes wrong.
10. Children
AUMVerse is not directed at children under [Minimum age]. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. This website
aumverse.co is a simple static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. If you switch the site’s language, your choice is saved only in your own browser (local storage). Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. Our web server may keep standard technical logs for security.
12. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the app changes how it handles information, and change the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes we will let you know in the app.
